Your privacy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what India's Next PM collects when you use this website, and why.

What we collect

We ask for one thing: a name to show publicly. We never ask for your email address, phone number or an account.

  • Your name: anyone visiting can see it in the recent voters list, so a nickname is fine. It is stored apart from your vote and shown without your choice, and only the latest 30 names are kept. When few people are voting, someone watching the totals as your name appears could still guess your choice, so use a nickname if that matters to you.
  • Your vote: we store the candidate, the time and a scrambled version of a random token, but not your name.
  • Your browser: that random token is kept in this browser's local storage, along with a note that you have voted. Your choice itself is not saved there.
  • Your IP address: it is used briefly to limit abuse. We do not save the address itself, only a keyed hash in a temporary counter. That counter contains no vote information and is deleted automatically.
  • Bot protection: when you vote, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the request isn't automated. Cloudflare processes that check under its own privacy policy. Visitors who only read the results are not checked.
  • Not used: no device fingerprinting, no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies.

Our hosting and database providers may keep routine technical logs, such as request records, to run and protect their services.

What the public can see

Anyone can see vote totals for each candidate, and the names of recent voters without their choices. Individual votes are never shown or published.
